5-1-25   THOUGHTS

The oneness of the Father and the Son is addressed in today’s reading.   Christ is the explanation of God on earth.  John 1:18.  John14:9   Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip?   He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how [can] you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”  Col 2:9 “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form...”   The Father and the Son have blessed us with ETERNAL LIFE!

John 5:19-27     Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.  20
For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel. 21
"For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes. 22  "For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, 23  so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. 24  "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. 25  "Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. 26  "For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;  27  and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.

My Prayer:
Father God, thank You for the hope of eternal life with You.  With age, this hope grows stronger and stronger.  We praise You for Your eternal wisdom toward us.  The sense of our existence resides in our faith in the death and burial and resurrection of Jesus Your Son. Your love is behind it all, Father.  We lift up your great name and exalt You.    In the name of Jesus,   Amen.
